Prestbury Phantoms – Football Tour to France &Holland

July 8, 2026

Fox Sports Travel delivered a six-day overseas football tour for Prestbury Phantoms, providing four teams with the opportunity to compete internationally while experiencing a range of professional and recreational activities throughout the Easter break. Travelling by two executive coaches, the touring party departed Prestbury Phantoms and made their way to Dover before crossing by ferry to Calais and continuing to Lille, France.
Upon arrival in Lille, the squad checked into their hotel, where they could unwind after the journey with a choice of pizza, burgers or pasta in the hotel restaurant. With the city centre just a short walk away, there was also time to explore the local surroundings before preparing for the following day’s activities.
After breakfast on day two, the team took part in a training session before visiting the impressive Decathlon Arena – Stade Pierre-Mauroy, home of French Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille. The behind-the-scenes stadium tour offered a unique insight into the professional game before the group continued their journey into the Netherlands.
On arrival at Centre Parcs Limburgse Peel, everyone settled into their accommodation and took full advantage of the resort’s excellent facilities, including a variety of restaurants, evening entertainment and the popular Aqua Mundo water park.
The football action began on day three as all four Prestbury Phantoms teams competed in the Holland Easter Open, one of Europe’s largest youth football tournaments. Across two days of competition, the club represented itself with pride, testing itself against international opposition while demonstrating resilience, teamwork and excellent sportsmanship. Across the 4 age groups, three were crowned champions… an outstanding achievement!
With the tournament complete, the squad celebrated with a well-earned visit to Efteling Theme Park. The day offered a welcome opportunity to unwind away from the football, allowing everyone to experience one of Europe’s most popular theme parks before returning to Centre Parcs for a final evening together.
On the final morning, the touring party checked out before travelling back to Calais to board the Eurotunnel to Folkestone, completing the journey home after an action-packed six-day adventure.
Overall, Fox Sports Travel delivered a well-organised and rewarding football tour to France and Holland that successfully balanced competitive international football with outstanding leisure experiences. The carefully planned itinerary provided opportunities for player development, team bonding and cultural experiences, leaving everyone with lasting memories while further strengthening the club both on and off the pitch.
